Rust Bytes Turns 2 🎉
Celebrating the 2 Years of Rust Bytes, How Far We’ve Come and What’s Next
Hello, Rustaceans
Today marks our second anniversary at Rust Bytes.
When we launched on December 18, 2023, we didn’t know how far this would go. What became obvious very quickly, though, is just how strong and generous the Rust community is.
Rust Bytes now reaches thousands of readers who regularly open and engage with the newsletter. That’s something we don’t take lightly.
Midway through the journey, we introduced Rust challenges to help build confidence through hands-on problem solving. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, and we’ve loved seeing so many of you share thoughtful solutions and approaches.
Earlier this year, we launched a Sponsorship Initiative to support Rust creators doing exceptional work. If you know someone making a real impact in the ecosystem, you can nominate them through our GitHub repo, your suggestion might help fund their next project.
In the second half of the year, we also started short Q&A interviews with Rustaceans pushing the language forward, including members of the Core Team. And we plan on continuing it in the next year.
Alongside that, we’ve highlighted community creators through articles, videos, tutorials, and podcasts. Rust’s momentum comes from its people, and we’re proud to help amplify their work.
As a small way of giving back, we’re open-sourcing Bytes, our internal collection of tools and resources we use to track and curate Rust content for the newsletter.
To everyone who’s supported us, through affiliate links, buying us a coffee, purchasing the e-book, pledging, or subscribing, thank you. Your support keeps Rust Bytes independent and sustainable.
What’s next?
We’re doubling down on what works: useful content, thoughtful curation, and more ways to support the people building Rust. More details soon.
If you’d like to support us, sharing the newsletter, sending feedback, or simply saying hi goes a long way.

Have a great holiday season,
John & Elley
